Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic Launches Direct Access Lab Testing

Affordable, convenient lab services now available without a doctor’s order.

Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic is making healthcare more accessible with the launch of its new Direct Access Lab Testing (DALT) service, available beginning Oct. 1. This program allows patients to order common lab tests without a physician’s order, providing affordable, convenient access to important health screenings.

“We are proud to offer Direct Access Lab Testing as another way to help our community take charge of their health,” said Kile Magner, CEO of Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic. “It removes barriers, gives people flexibility, and ensures patients can get answers quickly.”

Tests available through the program include cholesterol panels, glucose, thyroid levels, pregnancy testing, prostate-specific antigen (PSA), complete blood counts (CBC), and many more. Prices are transparent and start as low as $10, making it easier for individuals and families to monitor their health without unexpected costs.

Direct Access Lab Testing is available to all patients — even those who do not see a provider at Ellinwood Clinic. Simply stop by the hospital’s laboratory during outpatient hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and request the desired test. Results will be sent directly to the patient, who can then share them with their provider if needed.

“This program empowers patients,” Magner said. “Routine screenings can catch concerns early, giving providers and patients the opportunity to take action before more serious problems arise.”

For emergency and inpatient needs, lab services remain available 24/7.
