ELLINWOOD, Kan. — Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic providers Dr. Christopher Brown, M.D., and Shelbi Frees, APRN, partnered with Ellinwood Public Schools to provide Health Talks to students on the important topic of puberty.
Students in grades 7–12 at Ellinwood Middle and High School participated in the presentations last Monday, and students at the the Ellinwood Grade School (grades 4 - 6) participated on Friday. The sessions aimed to educate students on the physical and emotional changes that occur during adolescence, while encouraging healthy habits and open conversations about personal well-being.

Each student also received a bright yellow bag filled with hygiene items to support their personal care. The hygiene kits were made possible through generous community donations, including 320 bars of artisan soap provided by Linda Penner of Last Stop Acres, as well as contributions from Jennifer Klepper and other community members who helped supply the hygiene items.
“Our providers are passionate about not only treating patients, but also educating and supporting our community,” said hospital leadership. “Partnerships like these ensure our students receive the knowledge and resources they need to grow with confidence and good health.”
