Get Ready for the Season: Free Sports Physicals at Ellinwood Clinic

At Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic, we know how important it is to keep your student-athletes safe, healthy, and ready to compete. That’s why we’re once again offering FREE sports physicals for area students on July 21 and July 31 from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

While it may seem like just another form to check off before the school year, Meredith Joiner, APRN, says these appointments are much more than that.

“Sports physicals are common to overlook, but they give us the chance to do a quick head-to-toe assessment of your child and make sure they’re ready to take the field this year,” she shares. “We look at their hearts and lungs—and everywhere else. Sometimes we find small areas of concern. Catching something early in a routine checkup is so much better than waiting for something to go wrong.”

These quick, no-cost exams ensure that your child is physically prepared for the demands of athletics, and they also serve as a meaningful touchpoint with your healthcare provider.

“Sports physical days are some of our favorite days here at the Ellinwood Clinic,” Meredith adds. “It’s so refreshing to have our young kids in and feel their energy for the year to come.
